Today, in this post, we are going to tell you all about rooting and how you can root your Motorola P30, Play P30 and P30 Note Android Phone after installing TWRP. Once you have rooted your device, you will have opened up a whole new array of features which will help you play with the interface, make changes to the settings, get rid of the bloatware, upgrade/downgrade the firmware, and more.

How To Install TWRP Recovery On Motorola P30, Play P30 and P30 Note Android Phone

The first method you can Install the TWRP recovery then flash the SuperSu or Magisk to get your device rooted

Open cmd from here

  • Connect your device to the PC. And type the following into the command window we opened in step 4 above to boot your device into bootloader/fastboot mode:
adb reboot bootloader

If your asks for permission to “Allow USB debugging”, tap OK.

  • Once your device boots into bootloader mode, issue the following command into command window to flash the TWRP recovery .img file:
    fastboot flash recovery twrp.img

    └ Here modify twrp.img with the name of your TWRP recovery .img file, OR change your TWRP recovery filename to twrp.img and use the command above.

  • Once TWRP is successfully flashed on your device, issue the following command to reboot:
    fastboot reboot

    After Installing the TWRP recovery on your device, you can boot into TWRP recovery by following the linked guide. Then you can flash the Supersu or Magisk to get root access on your device.

    How to Root Motorola P30, Play P30, and P30 Note Android Phone Using SuperSu

  • Download SuperSu 2.82 Flashable Zip – DownloadMirror
  • Download SuperSu 2.82 apk – Download
  • Now follow the given guide to Install SuperSu On your device to get root access
  • Now Boot your device into TWRP Recovery (Press and hold the Volume Down button + Home button + Power button at the same time. As soon as your device screen goes black, immediately leave the Volume down button and swap to Volume Up button while still holding other 2 buttons. Keep the 3 buttons pressed until you get into TWRP Recovery.)
  • Now click on “Wipe” in the TWRP main menu and do a “Swipe to Factory Reset” on the bottom of the screen.
  • Now go back to TWRP main menu, Click on “Install” and select SuperSU (zip file) that you saved in your device in Step 1.
  • After selecting the .zip file, do “Swipe to Confirm Flash” to begin the installation process. (This may take some time as it is a fresh flashing process).

  • Once your SuperSU is successfully installed, click on “Wipe cache/Dalvik” option, and then do “Swipe to wipe” on the bottom of the screen.
  • Once done, reboot your device from the TWRP main menu

TWRP

  • Done!!! Your device should be rooted.

For confirmation, install Root Checker from Google Play Store and confirm the root privileges on your smartphone.

 How to Root Motorola P30, Play P30 and P30 Note Android Phone Using Magisk

  • Download Magisk-v13.1.zip  | Latest release > Magisk 16.4
  • Download Magisk Uninstaller – Download
  • Download the Magisk Module zip file from above and transfer the file to your device.
  • Boot your device into TWRP recovery. Guide  How To to Boot Into Recovery Mode On Android (Various Ways)
  • Once done, go back to TWRP main menu, tap on “Install” and select Magisk Module (zip file) that you transferred to your device in Step 1.
  • After selecting the .zip file, do “Swipe to Confirm Flash” on the bottom of the screen to begin the installation process.

(This may take some time as it is a fresh flashing process).

  • Once the zip is successfully installed, go to “Wipe cache/Dalvik” option, select it and then do “Swipe to wipe” on the bottom of the screen.
  • Once done, reboot your device from the TWRP main menu

  • Done!!!

For confirmation, install Root Checker from Google Play Store and confirm the root privileges on your smartphone.
