Jailbreak iPhone iPad iOS 11 with LiberiOS

You can now Jailbreak iPhone iPad iOS 11 with LiberiOS. Developer and hacker, Jonathan Levin has just released LiberiOS jailbreak. The first official jailbreak for iOS 11 – iOS 11.2 which supports iPhone X, iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. This tool allows a semi-tethered jailbreak only, just like Pangu jailbreak for iOS 9 and Yalu jailbreak for iOS 10.

Things to know before jailbreaking your iPad or iPhone with LiberiOS

Before you start jailbreaking your Apple device, here is what you need to know. Due to Cydia Substrate is yet available for iOS 11 by Saurik. Please avoid installing Cydia from an unknown source. This means that after jailbreaking your device, it may not be an easy task to install jailbreak apps and tweaks. Make a complete backup of your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch using iTunes. Ensure that your device is fully charged before for the jailbreak process to complete.

LiberOS supports the following iOS 11 versions:

iOS 11, iOS 11.0.1, iOS 11.0.2, iOS 11.0.3
iOS 11.1, iOS 11.1.1, iOS 11.1.2

LiberOS does not supports the following iOS 11 versions:

iOS 11.2, iOS 11.2.1

Steps to Jailbreak iOS 11 – iOS 11.1.2 using LiberiOS

  • Download LiberiOS Jailbreak and Cydia Impactor

Download the latest version of LiberiOS Jailbreak IPA from the official website and Cydia Impactor. Cydia Impactor is available for macOS, Windows, Linux (32-bit and 64-bit). Please Do not download LiberiOS from mirror sites. The may contain malware

  •  Install LiberiOS IPA using Cydia Impactor

Connect your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to the computer using the Lightning cable to sideload the LiberiOS IPA file. Launch Cydia Impactor on your computer. It will detect your iOS device. Drag the LiberiOS jailbreak IPA file you had downloaded earlier on to its UI.

  • Enter Apple ID and password for your Apple Developer

As always Apple will ask you to enter the Apple ID and password for your Apple Developer account. when prompted, and wait for Cydia Impactor to sideload the signed app on your iOS device.

  • Trust Developer Profile

Once the LiberiOS jailbreak is successfully sideloaded. Launch the Settings app, and navigate to Settings > General > Profile(s) & Device Management (in some iOS versions it may just be General > Device Management). Tap on the profile associated with the LiberiOS jailbreak app. Tap on Trust and confirm it.

  • Run Jailbreak Process

Launch the LiberiOS Jailbreak app from the Home screen, and tap Do it button to start the jailbreak process. After some time, you should get the screen which should tell you that “It worked”, indicating that the jailbreak was successful. Please, If the jailbreak fails then you can report it to this forum.

The Way Semi-Untethered Jailbreak Works

This is a semi-untethered jailbreak, which means that when your device restarts, the jailbreak will be disabled. In this state, You cannot use any jailbreak tweaks you installed and Cydia will crash when launched. To re-jailbreak, simply open the LiberiOS jailbreak app and do the jailbreak again. Your device will then go back to the jailbroken state.

How to Renew LiberiOS Jailbreak App When it expires.

If you are using free Apple Developer Account to install LiberiOS, it will expire after 7 days. So you have to re-install it via Cydia Impactor to extend it for another 7 days. The steps are the same as outlined above. Also note that you need the LiberiOS Jailbreak app only when you want to re-jailbreak your device after rebooting your iOS device, so even if it expires, the jailbreak will remain as is.
