Vivo has finally unveiled the oft-leaked and intensely teased X7 and X7 Plus smartphones. The two smartphones have very similar designs with the same full body aluminuim body as well as hardware specifications with only a few differences between them.
Speaking of similarities, they both have the same Snapdragon 652 processor, paired woth 4GB of RAM and 64GB of non expandable storage. They both have fingerprint scanners embedded in the home button. The X7 and X7 Plus both come with a 16MP selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture lens. The primary shooters are different though, the X7 gets a 13MP f/2.2 unit, while the X7 Plus is treated to a 16MP Sony IMX298 sensor. Both have phase detection autofocus and an LED flash.
The only difference between the two smartphones sre the screen size and battery capaxity with the Vivo X7 Plus sporting a larger 5.7-inch FullHD display and X5 with a 5.2-inch screen with the same FullHD resolution. Both screens are Super Amoled.
The battery inside the larger X7 Plus is a non removable 4000mAh while the X7 packs a 3000mAh
and thats about where the differences of both phones end.
As part of the chipset bundle you’d be getting 4G connectivity with Cat.7 LTE, Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth 4.1 and a GPS receiver. The X7 and X7 Plus are dual-SIM devices, too. A fingerprint reader in the home button comes standard, as does an AK4376 32-bit DAC. Less exciting is the Android version – 5.1 Lollipop is a bit dated already. There’s the obligatory Funtouch OS layer on top, in its 2.5.1 incarnation.
The vivo X7 will be available on July 7, and it’ll set you back CNY 2,498 ($375). The X7 Plus will go on sale 8 days later on July 15, and that’s when its price will be announced.
