HTC launched the successor of the mid range Desire 820 today. The Desire 830 will be available only for the Taiwanese market with no word on whether it will be available internationally.. The phone has a 5.5 inch fullHD display which is a very much welcome upgrade over the 820″s 720p display. Audio lovers will be glad to know that BoomSound speakers are present and are on the top and bottom of the phone’s 5.5″ 1080p display.

The Desire 830 is powered by  MediaTek Helio X10 chipset with a 1.5GHz octa-core CPU, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. There’s a memory card slot that supports up to 128GB microSD cards.
At the back, there’s a 13MP camera with OIS and f/2.0 aperture. It’s front facing camera is a 4MP UltraPixel snapper with f/2.0 probably similar to the one used in HTC m8. The phone’s battery is  rather on the small side at 2,800mAh.

The Desire 830 will go on sale in Taiwan on May 6 with a $310 (NT $9,990) price tag and it will come in orange and blue with highlights on the sides, speaker grill and camera ring.
